Sbcglobal.net (ATT, Bellsouth) provides IMAP access to your Sbcglobal.net (AT&T, Bellsouth) account, so you can connect to your email from mo,bile devices and desktop email clients.

 

The mail server settings below will work with all of the following AT&T domains:

Sbcglobal Email Settings - ATT & Sbcglobal.net POP3, IMAP, SMTP Settings 2018

 

To access your Sbcglobal.net email-account from a desktop email program, you'll need the IMAP and SMTP settings below:

 

Follow the steps listed below to setup your email-account.

  1. Touch Apps > Settings > Under Accounts touch +Add account
  2. Touch Email
  3. Enter the username and password.

If you are unsuccessful with setting up your accounts automatically, enter your e-mail address and password and touch Manual-setup, and use the manual-settings below:

Pop: pop.att.yahoo.com, Security SSL, Port 995

SMTP: smtp.att.yahoo.com, Security SSL, Port 465 / 587.

 

Make sure that you also have in the Outgoing server tab, that "My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication." is checked, and that "Use the same settings as my incoming mail server is tick.

 

Step:1

 

incoming mail server: pop.att.yahoo.com or pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.com

outgoing mail server: smtp.att.yahoo.com or smtp.sbcglobal.yahoo.com

 

then keep the ports mentioned above:  995

and 465 or 587

 

Follow steps to update your Sbcglobal email server settings:

  1. Open Outlook Express.
  2. Select File.
  3. Select Account Settings.
  4. Select the email account to update.
  5. In Internet Email Settings verify that:
    • o    You have POP3 or IMAP selected.
    • o    Your User Name and Password are correct.
  6. Enter the following:
    • o    For POP3 accounts, enter inbound.att.net for the Incoming mail server and outbound.att.net for the Outgoing mail server.
    • o    For IMAP accounts, enter imap.mail.att.net for the Incoming mail server, and smtp.mail.att.net for the Outgoing mail server.
  7. Select More Settings.
  8. Select the Outgoing Server tab.
  9. Verify the following:
    • o    My outgoing server (SMTPrequires authentication is checked.
    • o    Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.
  10. Select the Advanced tab.
  11. Enter the following:
    • o    For POP3 accounts, the Incoming server (POP3) is port 995, the checkbox for This server requires a secure connection (SSL) is selected, and the Outgoing server(SMTP) is port 465.
    • o    For IMAP accounts, the Incoming server (IMAP) is port 993, the checkbox for This server requires a secure connection (SSL) is selected, and the Outgoing server(SMTP) is port 465 or 587.
  12. Select OK.
  13. On the Internet E-mail Settings wind'owselect Next.
  14. Select Finish.

 

Step:2

 

ATT Email Updater

 

selects Launch the AT&T E-mail Updater, to begin the automated process.

Once they run the tool, the POP and SMTP server settings update with the correct server settings listed below.

POP Server: inbound.att.net

SMTP Server: outbound.att.net (requires authentication)

Mail Ports: Incoming Mail Port #995: SSL Checked; Outgoing Mail Port #465: SSL Checked

 

POP3 and IMAP email settings (sbcglobal.net, att.net, bellsouth.net)

 

Your desktop email program or m.obile email app will use either POP3 or IMAP to send and receive email. Be sure to use the right server and port settings.

 

These settings are good for email addresses with any of these domains: @ameritech.net, @att.net, @bellsouth.net, @flash.net, @nvbell.net, @pacbell.net, prodigy.net, @sbcglobal.net, @snet.net, @swbell.net, or @wans.net.
